FAQs

+ What is the intake process?

All first time clients must complete a phone intake between your booking and your appointment. During this time I will review your medical history, massage needs, and answer any questions you might have.

+ How much space is needed?

I ask that you have a clear space of at least 7 feet x 10 feet in order to have room for a massage table and space to move around.

+ Do I need to have a massage table?

No, I will bring all necessary supplies for your massage with me including a massage table, linens, music, and massage product. If you have your own massage table or other items that you would like to use, that works too, just let me know in advance of our session!

+ Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance, though I am happy to provide an invoice for individuals who may need one for reimbursement purposes.

+ When and how do I pay?

All appointments must be booked online, and reserved with a credit card. You will not be charged until the time of your appointment and you can pay via credit card, venmo, or cash.

+ Do you accept tips?

Tips are never expected, though always appreciated.

+ Is there a cancellation policy?

All appointments cancelled within 24 hours will be subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

+ I am unsure if I am medically able to receive a massage. Can we discuss beforehand?

For all first time clients, I will review your medical history with you so that we can address anything that might contraindicate bodywork for you, or what accommodations can be made so that you are still able to receive the benefits of a massage. If at anytime your medical situation changes, please don't hesitate to let me know so that we can discuss any concerns.

+ What if I have experienced trauma or abuse that is triggered by touch? Should I let you know?

Yes, please let me know if you do not want to be touched in a specific area or in a specific way. You don’t have to provide any details, and you always have the right to ask to take a break or end your massage session at any time, for any reason.

+ What do I do during a session?

Relax and get comfortable! If I need to adjust your position, I will either move you or ask you to move as needed. Feel free to change your position anytime to make yourself more comfortable. Most folks prefer to close their eyes and relax, though some feel more at ease engaging in some light conversation. Please feel free to do what feels natural and comfortable for you.

+ Can I blow my nose, itch, or get up and go to the bathroom during a session?

Yes! The last thing you should feel during a massage is uncomfortable and preoccupied. Feel free to take care of it, and let me know if you need assistance.

+ How well groomed do I need to be for a massage?

Please be mindful of your personal cleanliness and hygiene, otherwise there is no expectation that you remove body hair, have manicured fingers, or styled hair. Grooming is a personal choice that has no impact on your massage. Be comfortable and be yourself!

+ What if I get aroused or get an erection during my massage?

Arousal is a natural parasympathetic response, so there is nothing to be ashamed of. However, it is never my intention to arouse you. If there is a specific technique or motion that caused you arousal, please let me know. To be clear, I have a zero tolerance policy and any sexual advances, innuendo, or inappropriate touching is grounds for immediate termination of your session.

+ What if I fall asleep, snore, or drool during my massage?

No worries, this often happens during a massage. Rest, relax, and enjoy!
